This week, I finally created this website. That sentence might not sound like much, but it’s been 25 years in the making.
I’ve owned ChristopherMathews.com for over two decades. And in all that time, I never finished it. I’d start, stop, overthink, redesign, scrap it, start again. I knew I had the skills — design, writing, ideas — but the more I knew, the more pressure I felt to get it “right.” I was scared to be judged. I felt shame about what I could do, like somehow putting my true self out there would only make me feel more exposed.
One Human Can is my way through that.
It’s not just a project — it’s a mindset. One human can change. One human can show up. One human can start something and actually finish. I needed to prove to myself that I could follow through — and the only way to do that was to start here, with this site.
Before I begin the bigger creative projects I’ve been dreaming of, I knew I had to make this space real. This is my starting point. My blank canvas finally has something on it.
So here we go. One post. One project. One human. Let’s see what happens.
